Pantry make over 101
The pantry make-over is a thought provoking, eye opening, empowering process that improves your knowledge of food and nutrition on many levels. It's like an immersive nutrition consult (albeit there's nowhere to hide) and that's a good thing because it means there's no filters and we can really get down to business. No pantry or fridge pre-cleaning allowed!
It sounds scary, but it's not, it's really educational and totally non judgmental. You'll be given the skills to truly understand food labels, decipher numbers and additives, the meaning of natural flavours and colours and why and how they are used.
You'll learn about the difference between shopping at Colesworth and the farmers markets and what organic, free range and GMO really mean. You'll learn about the provenance and sustainability of foods and which ones are best to axe from or add to your daily diet.
You'll learn how food manufacturers combine sugar, salt and fat to make their offerings so moreish and why it's vitally important to limit some processed foods so that your palates like the natural taste of real food. Cravings for sugar, salt and fat increase with the consumption of sugar, salt and fat.
This service is for those who want to be strong and determined. How you choose to manage your path to a healthier pantry is up to you. Together, we can set realistic goals. You will be given strategies, tips and tricks, cheat sheets and substitution suggestions to achieve your goals.
My aim is to educate you on what additives, sugars, preservatives, colourings and chemicals may be hiding in your food and how they might be interfering with your health.
Once we've rid your house of the unwanted food like substances we can go shopping to fill your home with delicious, nutritious real food.
